[September 18] Theme: night photography

We took our pictures after dark today. The big question was whether or not to use the flash. I explained that the flash would illuminate their subject and the background would remain dark. This makes details stand out and keeps the subject clear and in focus. Without the flash, the pictures come out blurry, with a reddish glow. This can be a lot of fun. We were about evenly divided on the question. What about you?

Flash or no flash?

by Kristy. Notice how upset he got when I took him away from his fountain!

for Mike, by Kristy. Echo kept spashing in the fountain. He thought he was HOT STUFF!

About The Project

  • Each Sunday, our family will choose a theme to photograph. Each of the nine family members will choose their best photo to include on the site. This is an ongoing art project that we hope will teach our kids how to express their own vision of the world they live in.

  • You can participate by submitting your photo to the Nine Sides of Sunday flickr group.
